The Work

Three studies of the female figure share a single sheet, with the central nude developed to a greater level of detail than the surrounding forms. Soft chalk modelling gives the body depth and movement while the unfinished areas reveal the work as part of the artist’s process. Rather than feeling incomplete, the visible stages of drawing give the piece an intimate, almost private quality.
